The TSO Unifying Project for each regional conference in June will benefit ASTEF. Our theme for the unifying project is ACT: Invest in Education. ALL TSO members are members of ASTEF. The money collected with this fundraiser goes directly to ASTEF Project Stipends and Aspiring Educator fund. Hopefully you, your chapter, or someone you know has benefited from one of these grants. We hope that each attendee will contribute at least $5.00. Each luncheon table will have a red collection bag so the attendees will be able to drop their money into the bag. This collection reinforces the ASTEF mission of providing funding for activities that support professional and personal growth of women educators in Texas and providing educational excellence for Texas students. We are asking that members bring cash for their donation, but they may write a check. Checks must be made payable to the chapter handling the regional conference money. If you are unable to attend your regional conference, please consider sending your donation with a friend. ASTEF challenges you to take the Red Bag Challenge again this year and make a meaningful impact by giving to this fundraiser.
Unlock new opportunities with ASTEF! During the Regional Conferences, this engaging breakout session will give attendees a closer look at the wide range of grants and stipends available to support educational and professional growth. Participants will learn how to access funding, navigate the application process, and maximize available resources on the ASTEF webpage. Don't miss this chance to invest in your and your chapter's future or help a woman become an educator. Discover how ASTEF can help turn your dreams into reality when applying for money. ASTEF has money to give away to members, to chapters, and to Aspiring Educators! Make plans to attend this informative breakout session. See you June 20!

Hey, Girlfriend!
I wish I could give you spectacular news from our latest ASTEF Board Zoom, but it was a rather calm meeting. Psycho Suzy wasn’t wearing a pith helmet or any kind of head covering. She might have had on a tutu–wouldn’t put it past her–but it’s hard to tell on Zoom. She didn’t go in and out. She wasn’t delulu at all. Weird! And our sweet wunderkind techy girl didn’t pull any tech rabbits out of the hat that I could see. Boring! But hang on; I have good news about regional conferences. Have you registered for our regional conference? If you need help, I can do it for you. You need to go with me, girl! It’s going to be so fun! In our Zoom meeting we talked about getting the red bags (AKA money holders) for the tables, decorations for the scrapbook table, and who’s presenting about ASTEF at each conference. We found out that project stipends and Aspiring Educator grants will be awarded at each conference. That’s all hush hush, so I have no clue whether our chapter will get anything. Fingers crossed! I think the most exciting new thing at this year’s conferences is the launch of our PAD Pals to work alongside us. Let’s go down Memory Lane for a while. Do you remember Sister Persephone Prosper from our church in the hood? She was in the choir, but Sister PP couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket. Her favorite hymn was “Have Thine OwnHey Girlfriend Way, Lord,” and she would belt it out every Sunday if the choir director couldn’t stop her. What Sister PP loved the most about that song was it mentions a potter; she yearned to be a potter. For the full Hey Girlfriend article click here Below is a button for the updated ASTEF Brochure. It has information and photos from the Denton Convention.
Download the file. Then you can share it with your chapter as a digital file. You can also print copies to share when you are informing people about ASTEF activities. |
