MISSION STATEMENT


The mission of Alpha State Texas Educational Foundation is
  • to provide funding for activities that support professional and personal growth of women educators in Texas, and
  • to promote educational excellence for Texas students.

ASTEF members may apply for a Texas State Organization (TSO) state scholarship; participate in leadership events; and apply for project stipends.

MEMBERS OF THE FOUNDATION
All members of the Texas State Organization (TSO) of Delta Kappa Gamma are members of the Alpha State Texas Educational Foundation (ASTEF). 

The Annual Meeting of the members is held during the Texas State Organization (TSO) Convention every year. 

ASTEF is managed by a Board of Directors elected by the members. The 2021-23 Board consists of 18 members. Officers are elected by the Board.
In the past year, ASTEF has:
  • awarded $12,000 in competitive stipends for aspiring educators,
  • involved 345 women educators in a leadership event at state convention, and
  • awarded $36,703.90 in project stipends to benefit Texas students and teachers.​
  • funded $20,250 in scholarships,
  • provided leadership training for 30 professional educators,
MEMBER BENEFITS
Alpha State Texas Educational Foundation manages three funds for members : Scholarship, Leadership, and Projects.
  • Leadership funds leadership training through Leadership seminars and sponsored speakers at state events.
  • Scholarship funds scholarships and lifelong learning 
    opportunities.
  • Projects provides stipends for chapter, area, coordinating councils, or individual projects and Aspiring Educator Grants to women enrolled in educational classes at the university level.
