MISSION STATEMENT


The mission of Alpha State Texas Educational Foundation is
  • to provide funding for activities that support professional and personal growth of women educators in Texas, and
  • to promote educational excellence for Texas students.

ASTEF members may apply for a Texas State Organization (TSO) state scholarship; participate in leadership events; and apply for project stipends.

MEMBERS OF THE FOUNDATION
All members of the Texas State Organization (TSO) of Delta Kappa Gamma are members of the Alpha State Texas Educational Foundation (ASTEF). 

The Business Meeting of the members is held during the Texas State Organization (TSO) Convention every odd-numbered year. 

ASTEF is managed by a Board of Directors elected by the members. The 2025-2026 Board consists of 19 members and 5 ex-officio members. Officers are elected by the Board.
In 2025, ASTEF has
  • awarded $6,000.00 in grants to aspiring educators,
  • involved 215 women educators in a leadership event at state convention, 
  • awarded $38,376.10 in project stipends to benefit Texas students and teachers,​
  • funded $13,725.00 in scholarships,
  • provided leadership training for 30 professional educators.
MEMBER BENEFITS
Alpha State Texas Educational Foundation manages three funds for members : Scholarship, Leadership, and Projects.
  • Leadership funds leadership training through Leadership seminars and sponsored speakers at state events.
  • Scholarship funds scholarships and lifelong learning 
    opportunities.
  • Projects provides stipends for chapter, area, coordinating councils, or individual projects and Aspiring Educator Grants to women enrolled in educational classes at the university level.
