LEADERSHIP seminar - 2021
Leadership Seminar is an intensive leadership training experience held the second year of every biennium during a weekend in February. Up to thirty participants are selected from Texas State Organization (TSO) member applications. Leadership Seminar provides opportunities for professional and personal growth beneficial to both the member and the Society.
The 2021 Leadership Seminar was held in Arlington at the Hilton Hotel on April 16-18. Twenty-five participants from throughout the state were in attendance, bringing the total number of Leadership Seminar attendees to 446 since the first seminar in 1993. The tradition of the seminar is to provide impactful leadership training that will benefit both the individual member and the Society. “Unlocking the Treasure of Successful Leadership” was this year’s theme, and the journey allowed the participants to discover more about their own strengths and the importance of utilizing the strengths of others. After considering the challenging past year due to the pandemic and the seminar theme, the participants decided to name their class the Resilient Gems. This remarkable group of leaders was encouraged with the biennium theme, YOU are the key, and the closing ceremony focused on their ability to unlock the treasure within themselves that they will experience as they seize opportunities to learn, grow, and serve in Delta Kappa Gamma, their schools, and their communities. Both the attendees and the committee found great joy and inspiration in being together for this weekend experience, and we look forward to reconnecting at the Leadership Seminar Reunion at TSO Convention in Denton in June. 2019-2020 LEADERSHIP SEMINAR COMMITTEE
