thank you, Jimmy don holmesFor several years, I was a partner with my father in a metal art business called Stars Over Texas. It was located in Crawford, Texas. When he moved to west Texas in 2004, I stayed and worked really hard to make the business work on my own. In 2007, my wife Lori became my partner and full-time bookkeeper.
Over the years, we’ve been involved in some really special metal projects. We have built thousands of pieces and have worked on many projects for President Bush and Mrs. Laura. We’ve also done work for Hank Williams, Jr., United States Secret Service and Texas Department of Public Safety, just to name a few. We've been working with Joanna Gaines since her first call when she asked me to make her a metal sign. She explained that she and Chip were going to be filming a pilot show for HGTV and if it took off, she would need more signs during the whole season of filming. Since their show, Fixer Upper, was such a hit and Magnolia Market opened at the Silos, our company has grown significantly. |
Now, I work on the graphic design layouts of our metal projects, my wife is still the bookkeeper and our two sons work cutting tables and manage the 30+ employees that help with the rest of the process. We recently opened our own powder coat facility and we are proud to say that each metal piece is completed at JDH Iron Designs in its entirety from start to finish. I am grateful for every opportunity that has come my way and can't wait to see continued growth in Waco and the surrounding communities.
