September 10, 2020 - Travel with ASTEF
One of the major responsibilities of any non-profit and/or Foundation is to raise funds so that funds can then be given back to carry on the mission of the Foundation. From ASTEF’s early years to present, ASTEF Directors strive to put the FUN in Fundraising.
One of the most popular fundraisers has been the ASTEF Travelers’ Program. The first ASTEF Travelers’ trip was a Caribbean Cruise in 2012. Members and non-members enjoyed the tropical islands while also enjoying true spiritual fellowship. Other longer Travel Program trips have included an Alaskan cruise in 2013, a Road Scholar trip to Williamsburg in 2014, in 2015 to Savannah, and in 2018 to Asheville, NC. Plans are being discussed for an upcoming Fall 2021 ASTEF Extended Travel Program trip.
The success of these trips has lead ASTEF to create a second travel experience, the ASTEF Weekender. The Weekender is an extended weekend trip to a Texas destination. Chapters and key members in that area design, develop and host the 50 members and guests. The first Weekender was to Galveston in 2017. Other trips included Fredericksburg in 2018, Bryan/College Station in 2019, and back to Galveston in 2019. The next Weekender is planned for Houston in April of 2021.
What a fun way to raise funds!
